Wide Eyed Sleeper

Wide Eyed Sleeper is quickly gaining momentum with the release of their 2008 EP “Choking on Menthol” mixed by Grammy Winning Producer Doug Lancio (Patty Griffin, John Hiatt). Although a new band on the scene, the members of WES are not new to significant international success in the music business.

In early 2008, frontman Brett Ryan Stewart’s solo release, Necessary Lies (2007), topped the charts on Neil Young’s LIVING WITH WAR TODAY website. Performing Songwriter Magazine featured a rave review of the album in their May 2008 issue, proclaiming it a “sterling debut” from “a talent worth watching”. Brett has also been nominated for a 2008 Golden KIAC Award on IAC.com.

Guitarist Chris Tench (MTV/VH1), bassist Doc Downs (Dreaming in English) and drummer Kevin Cuchia (Andy Davis), earned many accolades during their prior collaboration, including signing a deal with Xcessive Records to secure distribution through I.O.D.A., winning a 2006 102.9 The Buzz Rock Award, and earning a 2007 nomination for the IAC.com Indie Song Of The Year.

Having shared the stage with many renowned bands, such as The Strokes, Van Halen, No Doubt, Rush, The Ours, Brad Paisley, Concrete Blonde, and Jimmy Buffet’s Corral Reefer Band, the members of WES culminate a wide spectrum of experience and influence.
